PI(E)
Saw this pic and liked it, so I'm posting it here. At first I thought it was just a coincidence that the crust split in the middle to make the Pi sign, but then I noticed the outer edges of the crust. This is what happens when math geeks bake.
Also, did anyone watch the St. Patrick's Day Showdown on SPIKE on Saturday night? If so, what'd you think? I thought it was okay. I think it could've used more on screen graphics and Rich Shea and Crazy Legs would've been cooler behind a desk with a big MLE logo on the front like they do on location at ESPN sportscasts. But still a good show overall. I especially liked Bertoletti rocking the cheesy 'stach and his nose running like a fountain during the doughnut round. The dude is hard core and the new #1 eater in America.

Yeah, march 14 was Pi day. There were google alerts all over the place for pie eating contests for that day. Only thing is, no one posts anything till everything is already past.
Missed the ESPN show, are they going to re-air it?

I know their mentality and what they were thinking dropping me from doing commentary. They thought crazy legs has more intensity than i and would give more of a slam bang type of performance. I can adapt to the same style if be necessary . Quite the opposite of the layed back approach they wanted from me in eats of strength. If you notice Crazy Legs and Shea's faces were missing during the play by play which means they gave their blow by blow after the contest ended via tape delay just in case either of them fucked up. So for all those assholes that emailed me trying to rub it in that Legs is a better commentator than i, he wasnt reporting the play by play as it happened.

CAREY - You missed the Showdown? Ass. One word, TiVo. I've got it saved. Next time you come over, we'll watch it. Check SPIKE's listing for repeats. Ass.
BB - You and Legs would have been great commentators. Maybe they're grooming Legs for a post-eating career as an MLE commentator.

I thought Legs was kinda boring.... I know he tries to do the whole "intellectual" angle, but for Spike TV it comes off a little weak.

I loved it. I'm sort of dying to know what the story was with Chip and Tim, though. You could tell that Chip knew he'd made it to the top four, but thought he'd been slighted. It was confusing how they would have made that mistake. Clearly, it wasn't really because of a piece of cabbage. I'm thinking it must have just been a judging goof.
And the last contest with Pat popping those jalapeƱos like candy, while Joey slowly died on the side was pretty amazing. I think the foods really played to Pat's strengths.

I saw that too Liz. It really looked like Joey was going to lose it all over the first row during doughnuts AND peppers. But then, he always looks like that, so it's hard to say if he was close to reversing or not.
He definitely knew he'd been beaten (pretty severely) because during the last 5 seconds, all he did was take a long drink of water and pop one pepper in his mouth. No last second chipmunking in that contest.
Regarding the whole Chip/X mix-up...the eaters obviously knew where they finished before the announcement was made. I can only imagine what Chip was thinking in the seconds after X's name was announced (Probably something along the lines of "What the fuck?!") As for how the mix-up occured, perhaps it was wishful thinking on George's part.

If you get a chance to view i prepared a video state of the union address which will address all MLE gripes , issues etc. Some will be pissed .It will air sometime this week I might be stepping on some toes but it needs to be addressed and it will be done . If it means my expulsion then so be it.

my guess is that they used pre-weighed containers and Chip knew that he was ahead of X because he may have been working on the next container when the buzzer went off.
I noticed that they flashed a quick graphic and that it was Chip and then Rich and then Tim.
GREAT contest though!

I can't wait to watch it BB. You're the straw that stirs the drink (or the ladle that stirs the chili). Every sport needs one or two of those.
They did use one graphic late in the telecast. The "Chew Meter" (or something like that). It was basically a wavy line on a chart showing an increase in chews over the course of the contest.
It didn't really show any numbers or say whose chews it was tracking (the whole group's?). It was obviously based on no real data whatsoever, but it was a nice effort. I'd like to see more stuff like that in future telecasts...except using real statistics.

I don't believe Pat is at 2nd now. I wish he was, but the rankings are on the MLE site now and it has Joey as second. Unless I didn't notice the rankings till today.
